Fakhar Iman on Tuesday took oath as Federal Minister for Food Security and Research.
According to details, oath taking ceremony was held after a major reshuffle in federal cabinet. However, Syed Amin Ul Haque of MQM did not attend the ceremony.
Notification of appointment of Babar Awan as advisor on Parliamentary Affairs has also been issued.
Earlier, in the fallout of the Sugar crisis investigation report, the Federal cabinet went through a major shakeup. Federal Minister of National Food Security and Research Khusro Bakhtiar resigned from his Ministry and Secretary Food Security Hashim Popalzai was removed from his post. Samiullah Chaudhry also resigned as the provincial food Minister after meeting Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Shehzad Arbab, Advisor to PM on Establishment was also removed from his position. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s resignation was accepted and MQM’s Amin ul Haque replaced him as IT Minister.
